Formula E’s use of grid kids at the season three finale in Montreal will not be a one-off following an overwhelmingly positive response from the motorsport community.

In place of the traditional ‘grid girls’ that appear at races, Formula E gave 20 young racers the chance to take on the role in Montreal, standing in front of the cars before the start.

The use of grid girls has been a hot topic in racing circles for a couple of years, the practice deemed outdated by many, with the FIA World Endurance Championship ending its use of them for all events back in 2015.

Such was the response that Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag said in a comment on Current E’s Instagram account: “We should always do it, so basically… we will!”
