Get under the skin of the first season Mahindra Racing Formula E car with this graphic.
Codenamed the “M1Electro”, this single-seater all-electric racing car has been put together by some of the best in the business. It features an electric motor supplied by McLaren (the same unit is used in the P1 supercar), batteries from Williams (closely related to those found in the company’s F1 cars and in the C-X75 prototype), a carbon fibre tub from Dallara, a five-speed paddle-shift transmission from Hewland and low-profile, all-weather treaded tyres from Michelin.
But this is just the beginning. In season two, Mahindra will be able to introduce its own powertrain technology into the rear-wheel drive chassis. Batteries, inverters and transmission are all open for development: the technology race has begun.
