Venturi will be the first port of call for Maro Engel when it comes to firming up his racing plans for season four of Formula E, the German saying he is “very happy” with the team.
Mercedes factory driver Engel joined Formula E in season three with Venturi, enjoying an impressive debut in Hong Kong to take ninth place.
Engel has endured a rollercoaster debut campaign in the all-electric series, scoring points in every race he has finished – all three of them – and suffering five retirements, including both legs of the New York double-header.
Despite his struggles, Engel is already beginning to piece together his plans for season four, and another year with Venturi is something he would be open to.
“At the moment I don’t have a contract in place for season four, so discussions are ongoing. We’ll see when there’s something to announce,” Engel told Current E in New York.
“I’m very happy with where I am at the moment and I feel like we’re really making good progress. Everything else, we have to wait.
“I know the team’s making good progress for season four, so definitely they’re the first people for me to speak to, that’s very clear.”
