Antonio Felix da Costa was said to be recuperating after undergoing surgery on his knee following a football incident, in one of today’s slightly more believable April Fool’s jokes.
The Portuguese driver broke the news on Instagram, followed by a tongue in cheek response from the team (“Does anyone know any fast drivers?”).
Elsewhere, Mahindra released “details” about the team’s second season powertrain, noting that it features a “hyper kinetic auxiliary battery system” and solar panels on the car and on the drivers’ helmets. No sunlight? No problem: the team said that drones would fly overhead to provide artificial lights.
Formula E is certainly proving to have a sense of humour.
