Top F1 teams not earmarked for Formula E

There have been several stories washing around the internet over the past week or so, quoting Formula E promoter Alejandro Agag as believing that top Formula 1 teams will shortly be joining the new championship. The stories originated here, but a spokesperson for the promoter FEH took to Twitter to state that “something must have got lost in translation”.

The spokesperson also pointed out to Current E that Agag hadn’t made the comments, despite the proliferation of the story across the internet.

Of course, with affordable budgets, top city locations, trendy eco-messaging and a likely new target market, big F1 teams who are already developing similar technologies to those used in Formula E would be missing a trick by not fielding teams.
